Overview

The Archaeological Museum of Corfu, recently renovated, brings together a number of important finds from prehistoric times to late antiquity.

Among them stands out the monumental pediment from the temple of Artemis with the representation of Gorgos, the oldest surviving stone pediment of ancient Greek architecture.

Experience a unique private hospitality experience at the Museum, with information and stories from the Greek Mythology exclusively for you.

To top off your experience, walk along the seaside promenade in front of the Archaeological Museum. Enjoy one of the most beautiful walks in Europe, dominated by the Old Fortress, the blue sea, the traditional windmill and the old lighthouse.

Join us in the Old Town from the south side where the Raimondos Gate once controlled the entrance. See, firstly the Ionian Academy building, the first Greek University. The Ionian Academy was founded by the hellenophile Frederick North, Lord of Guildford, who used all his savings and worked hard to bring the academy to fruition.

Pass through the Spianada, the large beautiful square and end up at the entrance of the imposing Old Fortress.

You have enjoyed a brief taste of Corfu’s various historical periods showing what makes the island so special. Thank You!
